Alyssa and Donovan first met in 6th grade when they were in the same class together. It was not until 8th grade when they started to become friends. Soon after, Donovan asked Alyssa to be his "girlfriend" and go play soccer together at the local soccer complex. Unfortunately, Alyssa broke Donovan's heart after a couple of months together and they lost their friendship.

In 2015, Alyssa and Donovan started to reconnect and become friends again. In March 2015, Donovan asked Alyssa to junior year prom and she said yes. Alyssa and Donovan have been together since.

In Febuary 2024, Donovan, Alyssa, and a group of friends went to Glacier National Park in Montana. This is where Donovan purposed to Alyssa and she said YES. Soon after, Alyssa and Donovan bought their first house in East Lansing where they live with two cats.
