It all started on the parade grounds of LSU, surrounded by purple and gold, tailgate snacks, and a whole lot of Tiger spirit. Owen spotted Alyssa and, with a spark of confidence (and maybe a little bit of charm), asked her to be his date to semi-formal. Alyssa said yes… and then promptly wandered off. But fate—and a shared love of sports—had other plans.

Once Owen found out Alyssa was a hockey fan, it was game over. From that moment on, the Capitals vs. Penguins debates began (and still haven’t stopped), with Ovechkin and Crosby taking up permanent residence in their conversations. Eventually, they discovered points of commonality such as their love of the Saints, LSU football, Mardi Gras, travel, fishing, the beach, and trying new food.

Since that LSU tailgate, life has been one great adventure after another. They’ve co-parented the best dog, Rudy, moved in together in San Antonio while Alyssa was in dental school, and said "yes!" to forever on the white sands of their favorite place—Pensacola Beach.

From graduating dental school and moving to New Orleans, to buying their first house and surviving both a hurricane and a blizzard (because why not?), their journey has been full of love, laughter, and a healthy dose of playful rivalry.

Now, they're trading in game days for their big day—and they can’t wait to celebrate it with the people they love most.
