Horseback Riding Experiences

Trail rides are available to hotel guests and day visitors; with both novice and skilled riders welcome. Onsite trail rides utilize the hillside paths behind Madonna Inn and offer stunning views of the local landscape with experienced wranglers and gentle horses.

The 1-hour trail rides cost $105 per person for adults and children. Children ages 7 and older are welcome. Please note that reservations are required, with rides operating between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, with scheduled ride times throughout the day. Our stables are located below and to the left of the Madonna Expo Center.

Helmets are required for all riders; certified horseback riding helmets are provided. Height/Weight restrictions may apply for the safety of horses and riders. Please call us with any specific questions - (805) 550-5307.

All payments must be pre-paid in the Reservation Office. Payment can not be taken at the horse corral.

Activity Cancellation Policy: There is no charge if your activity is cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the start time. If you are cancelling within 24 hours of your scheduled activity and/or do not show up for the activity, you will be charged the full amount.

Bruce Munro: Light at Sen­so­rio, is an immer­sive walk-through out­door exhib­it that is now per­ma­nent and will con­tin­ue in res­i­dence. They’ve recent­ly added two exhibits by inter­na­tion­al­ly acclaimed artist Bruce Munro: Fire­flies, a whim­si­cal work made up of close to 10,000 flick­er­ing points of light and Gone Fish­ing, a play­ful rep­re­sen­ta­tion of the con­tem­pla­tive act of stand­ing by a stream. These exhibits com­ple­ment the cur­rent Field of Light and Light Tow­ers – also by Munro.

Live music, food and bev­er­age, local wine, beer and dis­tilled spir­its are avail­able onsite dur­ing event hours. Hours of oper­a­tion are based on the sun­set time of each month.
