Alyssa and Julius met in high school through his cousin, Julia. But they didn’t date until senior year at Mt. Carmel High School. Alyssa and Julius were cast in the musical, Fiddler on the Roof, in the ensemble as husband and wife. When Alyssa got sick and missed a week of school, Julius messaged her on Facebook to see if she was okay and they continued to talk from that point on. They went on their first date at Marie Calendar’s. They shared strawberry pie and it was horrible, but both were too scared to admit it. They sat at the restaurant for a few hours talking about anything and everything. But then, Julius got a call saying he was missing his mom’s birthday party. He asked Alyssa if she wanted to come and this freaked her out. After he took her home, she avoided him. For two months. Until her best friend told her to give him another chance. When she did, he took her to a movie and for some reason she was hooked. From that moment on they were inseparable. Julius decided to attend Arizona State so he could be closer to Alyssa because she was heading to Northern Arizona. After a year at college, Alyssa decided to transfer to Arizona State to pursue a degree in Musical Theater and be closer to Julius. Despite all the difficult challenges in their lives, facing them together made everything a lot easier. Julius and Alyssa had talked about marriage, their dreams and everything in between. They both agreed that when Alyssa graduated, it would be a good time to think about proposing. They both love Disneyland and decided to go there for their five year dating anniversary and that is where Julius decided he would propose. The entire day was fun and full of love, but Julius was acting really strange and kept having to use the bathroom. He told Alyssa he had a surprise for her after dinner, and they went to the Sky Lounge to watch the Pixar-themed fireworks. Then during the finale as “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” played, Julius got down on one knee and asked Alyssa to marry him. What happened next is a blur for both, but she said yes...as far as we know...
