It happens when you least expect it, right? Sure enough, that was the case! December 2023 - My best friend and Matron of Honor, Taylor O'Brien, mentioned setting me up with one of Logan's (her husband) friends a few times toward the end of 2023. "I think you should meet Romario. He's into fitness, he likes to travel, have a good time, and he goes to church. He's really nice and easy on the eyes." A few months pass and we're ringing in 2024, at Taylor and Logan's house. I'm the only one without a significant other, and Taylor texts me, "Romario is going to a concert tonight but might come by after. Maybe he will be your New Years kiss :)" I was indifferent... along for the ride, but the timing wasn't right.. yet. January 2024 - The next weekend, we were out in The Stockyards and Romario came out to meet Taylor, Logan, and me, at Rhinestone Saloon --&gt; White Elephant. My initial thoughts were, "He is tall, dark, and handsome. He has a pretty smile." At White Elephant, he bought me a drink and asked for my number before I left for the night. We chatted over text, and he made it clear quickly that he wanted to take me on a date. A week or two later, we went on our first official date to Social House on a Sunday, for brunch (if you know Romario, you know he's a BIIIIIG brunch guy, and I also love brunch!). The cowboys were playing in the playoffs (and lost), and it was freezing cold--in the teens and sleeting, but we still went and had a blast! Fast-forward, we went to each other's gyms, he asked me to be is valentine, and was very intentional and vocal about how he wanted to keep seeing me, and I loved it. I ran the Cowtown half marathon, and he made came to support me, sign and all! That evening, he planned the cutest date night that almost went off track, but he was cool, calm, and collected and on February 25, 2024, we officially started dating!! We went skiing together in Breckenridge in March, and to Rosemary Beach in June. I had never experienced such an amazing and easy relationship. We got along so well and enjoy all of the same things (and still do)!! It was then that I knew this was something special and I never wanted it to end.

Our Story - Alyssa's Version

OUR STORY - ROMARIO'S VERSION   Keep your faith and the right person will come along! New Years Eve 2023 - I had plans to go to a concert to ring in the New Year of 2024. I spoke to one of my best buds Logan O'Brien to see what his plans were. His wife (Taylor) happened to be hosting a dinner with her friends. So, I gave Logan hell (if you know us this is normal) and she heard. Long story short I got myself invited and had to decline because of the concert. Taylor wanted me to go over because she said she really wanted me to meet her friend. Little did I know later, she had been meaning to set this up.   Lucky for me I got another opportunity the following weekend to meet this wonderful woman. Logan and Tay invited me out to the stockyards that night. I met Alyssa and thought she was a beautiful cowgirl. I asked for her number before heading home and was fired up she gave it to me!   First Date We texted all week and I asked her to brunch with me that Sunday. Fortunate enough for me she accepted and it just so happens that I can thrive at a good brunch! Unfortunate part is the cowboys happened to be playing in the playoffs vs the Packers and were trying to ruin this date via their pitiful performance. We had a lot of fun though and she seemed to be into me.   That following week she invited me to her gym for a Saturday workout and I was a little hesitant to accept just because I didn't know what to expect from that place. I said heck why not. I got her to come to my gym a week or two later. We both love working out so it was perfect.   We hit it off from our first date it all felt right. About a month and a half in I figured it was time to take the next step and ask her to be my gf. What better way to show my support than showing up to her race with a sign cheering her on. I wanted her to know I was all in. I think she got the point. That day I met her wonderful family while carrying around my sign after the race. I had setup a whole ice cream date for that evening, so that I could ask her to be my gf. We get there and nothing was ready because it got messed up via the ice cream shop worker having a meltdown that day and not passing the info along to the other people. I adapted and overcame on the fly and had the new worker spell it out on some cookies. That would be the official day she became my gf on Sunday 2/25/2024!!   Within a couple months of officially dating we went on a couple vacations/trips together. From snowboarding to the beach to San Angelo Rodeo to weddings and a river trip. We had a blast doing all of it and if you want to know how well you mesh with someone try going through the airport with them a couple times and you will find out. All of the traveling was so easy together!   I still remember the first time I told her I love you. Through this year of dating it has really been nothing short of amazing and it continues to be. I will always remember the day I asked her to marry me and I would do it over a million times. She has been nothing but good to me and I can't wait for our big day and all of our family and friends to be a part of it!

One of my very fondest is when she and her husband, Logan, introduced me to the love of my life!  Taylor is a steadfast friend even in the midst of juggling multiple jobs and extracurriculars.  Not sure how she does it all and makes it look easy.

I met Geordian through Taylor—they’ve been besties since forever and Taylor was kind enough to share her with me! Geor is a fashionista boss babe, and has her own online clothing boutique. This girl loves to have a trip booked. Don’t be surprised if you catch us sipping champagne or spicy margs together at an airport! She is faithful, generous, and the hostess with the mostest.

Kallie and I have been besties since kindergarten, and really, even before that (our parents met while pregnant with us)! Kallie and I have been through all of life's highs and lows together, and I am beyond grateful for her sincere friendship today, and everyday.

The sister I didn’t know I needed. Emily has been a huge help in wedding planning and was confident we could pull this off in four months (she and my brother did the same thing)! Emily is the best addition to our family and I cherish her.

Our friendship was fast and solidified instantly in 2022 when I convinced her to make Fort Worth her home (or something like that). A best bud, brother, and former teammate. We have been friends since high school. The kind of guy I can always count on for anything. A true shake hands and kiss babies type of guy and could also start a conversation with a wall. Fun Fact: He is a former "Mr. Bobcat" and now goes by "Mr. Dragon".

Logan O'Brien

TPW.....IYKYK. One of my best buds since freshman year in high school and 2x former teammate. A real straight shooter. A guy I would get into a fox hole with. It has been a pleasure to have a guy like this as a best friend.  Fun Fact: He is considered the Standard American Package by some and hangs his hat on effort.

William Brown

Another former roommate, brother, and roadrunner through and through. Another guy that I consider family. Will never turn down a good time when I'm in town. A brunch hates to see us coming. Fun fact: He was once awarded and named the fastest pizza delivery driver in the 210.

Dominic Oliva

A friend, brother, and former roadrunner teammate. The type of friend that is always up for anything and can make light of any situation. Fun fact: He claims to be a "dog person" but has a cat as a pet.

Gabe Casillas

A brother and great friend for 13 years now. The type of friend that you are always guaranteed to have a good time around. The dance floor hates to see this guy coming. Has a mean griddy, ask him about it. Fun Fact: He is considered an amateur professional margarita connoisseur.

Korey Zavala

Another lifelong friend that I made through UTSA football. The type of friend that you can count on for help. Very versatile friend and can help with anything from moving to taping a wrist. Fun Fact: He has a very unique skill set and "trick" that involves him one biting a hotdog.
