Can I bring kids to the wedding?
There will be kids at the wedding. If your invite is addressed to your family (Ex: The Jones Family) or lists your childs name, they are invited. Please respect our wishes by following who your invite is addressed to.
Can I bring a +1?
It will be clearly stated on your invite if you are able to bring a plus one. If a specific name is listed on your invite, only that person is invited to the wedding. Some people may be labeled as "John Doe + Guest." This means they are welcome to bring who they wish as their guest, but please list their name when you RSVP. Please respect our wishes for plus ones.
When should I RSVP by?
RSVP's are due by August 14th. Use the RSVP tab on the website to RSVP for your entire party. If you were given a plus one, please write in your guests full name. If you decide not to bring a plus one, simply decline their invite when RSVPing. If we do not receive your RSVP by the date listed, we will assume you are unable to attend. We will miss celebrating with anyone unable to make it, but it is important we provide an accurate guest count to our vendors. Thank you for understanding.
Is there a dress code?
The dress code is semi-formal.
Women: cocktail dresses or dress pants with a nice top.
Men: dress pants or khakis with a button down shirt, suit or tuxedo.
What food will be served?
There will be small appetizers during cocktail hour for guests to snack on. Dinner will consist of chicken breast, beef tips, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and green beans starting with salad and rolls. Some of the food options will be gluten free and clearly labeled. The meal will be served family style. For dessert we will have cake and for late night snack we will have pizza.
Is it an open bar?
Yes! Most drinks are on the bride and groom. This consists of rail mixers, tap beer and wine. This does not include higher end alcohol, bottle/can beer or seltzer drinks. Please bring cash/card if you plan on ordering these types of drinks. There will also be soda, juice, water and coffee available for guests. We want everyone to have fun, but please drink responsibly.
What time should you arrive?
The ceremony starts promptly at 4:00 pm. Please plan to arrive at 3:30 in order to find a seat before the ceremony begins. You can arrive earlier if you feel moved to. If you are only invited to the reception, please plan on arriving around 8:00 pm. This will be stated on your invite.
Can I take pictures at the wedding?
We ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. There will be one opportunity during the ceremony for guests to take pictures. During the reception, please take plenty of pictures and videos. We will have an app where photos can be shared afterward. We would love to see them all!
What will the music be during the reception?
We will have a DJ providing the music during the reception. More of the classic wedding music will be played until around 9:00 pm. After 9:00, the music will transition into more club like music that may include inappropriate words and messages. Please plan accordingly if this kind of music is not something you want to listen to or have your kids listen to.
Will there be a shuttle?
No, there will not be a shuttle from the venue to the hotel. There is a hotel about 3 blocks away from the venue that we will have a block reserved in. If you plan on booking a room, we suggest to park at the hotel and walk to the venue from there.
Do you have a hotel block?
Yes! We have a hotel block reserved at the Oshkosh Marriott Waterfront Hotel. In order to reserve a room, please call the hotel and tell them you are apart of the Nelson/Klemm Wedding block. There is more information provided under the Travel tab of the website.
Where should we park?
For the ceremony, there is plenty of parking at the church. The parking around the reception venue is a little more complicated. There are three parking lots around the venue that are open for parking during the reception. There is some street parking around the venue, but we suggest using the open lots. Otherwise if you booked a hotel room, we suggest you park there and walk to the venue. There are picture below of the three lots open for parking around the venue.
