Our Wedding

Alyssa Palermo and Henry Fontenot’s love story begins like a scene in The Sandlot - they met at the Crossgates pool where Henry was lifeguarding. Though no CPR was administered, there was no doubt some life-altering connection formed that day. Their first date was on the 4th of July, 2015 where they watched fireworks together in Heritage Park. While sparks flew, they continued to remain friends for the next few years, eventually going on their separate journeys around the world. Henry served in the Marine Corps after graduating high school, stationed in Hawaii for the majority of his duty. During this time Alyssa began her time at Southeastern Louisiana University where she studied Health Sciences with dreams of one day becoming an Occupational Therapist. On a whim in the summer of 2019, Alyssa and her best friend Emily Morris booked a trip to Hawaii in the hopes of rekindling Alyssa’s childhood crush. After a week filled with hiking, beach days, and learning how 20-something Marines spend their days off, they said “a hui hou” (until we meet again). After that trip to Hawaii, Henry introduced Alyssa to family as his girlfriend at Christmas. Much to the Fontenot family’s surprise, they learned Henry James had already been a household name to the Palermo family for 7 years. Both quickly were welcomed into the family with arms wide open. Henry proposed to Alyssa on December 9th, 2022 in Hammond, Louisiana after a steak dinner that Henry nervously sweat through. Alyssa said yes, fulfilling her 14-year-old selfs wildest dreams. They currently live in Slidell, Louisiana with their Goldendoodle, Goose. Alyssa and Henry look forward to their wedding day where they will get to spend time with their closest friends and family from all over the country, who have all been a part of this decade-long love story.
