A Love That Found Its Way 562 Miles Back Home

Picture of A Love That Found Its Way 562 Miles Back Home

I've never been one to believe in fate- but when I moved across the country just to fall in love with a man who taught two doors down from me after we grew up only an hour apart from one another, sometimes it's enough to question the universe and how she works. Jens and I have been to so many of the same concerts, share childhood memories, and loved so many of the same places growing up; it's crazy to think how many times in life we have only been a few feet from one another.

In the end, we ended up teaching at the same time in the same place hundreds of miles from home and next to each other once again. It almost seems there has been a string that has pulled us to one another all along.

I am so grateful to have found a person who makes life so damn EASY. Jens is truly my equal partner. Two years of knowing one another and loving each other has been so natural, happy, and healthy. I love the way we take care of one another and continue to develop our love. I'm blessed to share our views on the world, family, goals, communication, loyalty, education, literature, politics, friendship, and marriage. Jens, I love the home we are building in the house we bought together. I love that you love my dogs as much as I do (sometimes it seems even more). I love our shared sense of home in both Wisconsin and Tennessee. I love that we share a passion for educating and working with our students- you truly give me respect and understanding in regards to my career that I have never received from anyone else. Heaven only knows my heart has been tested time and time again before meeting you and I'm so blessed to have found the love that I have been searching for. There are so many reasons you feel like home.

Jens created a perfect and romantic sunset proposal that I could have only dreamed of as a little girl. Jens drove a total of seven hours that day in order to pick up my ring in time (it was three weeks late and then accidentally was rerouted to Virginia- so he last minute drove seven hours round trip to meet a very kind UPS man in East Tennessee so the original proposal plan could still happen). He gave me the ring of my dreams- a one of a kind yellow gold ring with a lab-grown diamond center stone, detailed band with two diamonds, and a pink sapphire halo from my favorite small business jeweler.

We are so excited to celebrate our love with our family and friends this June!
