Established in the 1790s, this historic landmark is one of the oldest public markets in the U.S. There’s everything from handmade crafts, trinkets, and jewelry to the nation’s most prized souvenir—the woven sweetgrass basket. Certain weekend nights even have a special night market that runs until late. Enjoy live entertainment, embrace Charleston’s Southern charm, and soak in the lively atmosphere. It’s a fantastic way to support the local artisans and their work, too. Visit the market and remember to have cash handy for payments.
Located in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, Rainbow Row has been a beloved landmark for nearly three centuries. In addition to its colorful appearance, Rainbow Row also has a rich history. The street was once a center of commerce and trade, with many of the homes being used as warehouses and shops. Today, Rainbow Row continues to be a bustling hub of activity, with shops, restaurants, and homes lining its charming street.
Catch a show or live music at one of our favorite music venues. We saw one of our all-time favorite bands, The Brook & the Bluff, here back in 2021. They are always hosting live musicians, whether they are local legends or touring bands.
