Our relationship began the same way many relationships come to be in the 2020’s… on a dating app! (Hinge to be exact) But it wasn’t Cody’s tall, dark & handsome features that lured Alyssa in. It was this big, goofy bulldog smiling ear to ear. Biggie boy, Cody’s faithful companion, is responsible for this love story coming to life. ♥︎

From there, they realized just how similar they were to each other! Their love for animals, the outdoors, love for their family - and ILLINI of course!!! They went on their first date on Alyssa’s 29th birthday & the rest is history.

From starting new careers, going on new adventures, growing the most special bond between our “blended” family, renovating their home, watching A LOT of Illini sports, to eventually it growing by two little boys - their love story is far from traditional, but so perfect in its own way. ♥︎

On March 20, 2025 at Animal Kingdom in Disney World (um hello, they LOVE animals!!!) Cody got down on one knee and asked Alyssa to be his forever. 💍 So the new journey to Going Garber begins!
