Hi there family and friends!Welcome to our love story! It may not be the wildest you've ever heard, but it's ours and it's special. We met as most young people do nowadays via Hinge (a dating app) during Covid times in 2020.. Remember those days? Ugh. At the time, Cody had just moved to Harrisburg and Alyssa was living in Uniontown, PA, which for those who aren't currently looking at a map, is 3 hours apart. As I'm sure you can imagine, it made connecting in-person rather challenging. After several months of talking via text and countless nights of facetime, Alyssa traveled to Harrisburg for the first time to meet Cody in person in October of 2021 and from there, we just knew this was something incredibly special. After much discussion, Alyssa moved to Harrisburg in June of 2022 and shortly after, Cody purchased his first home in November of that same year. We've had so many fun adventures along the way, but we will spare you the boring details. You want the juicy story of our engagement right? Boy is it one we will never forget. Picture it, a planned trip to Gatlinburg, TN in early November 2024. We left pretty early in the morning to get a jump on interstate 81 traffic so naturally it was VERY dark. While traveling southbound right outside of Harrisonburg, VA, the most MASSIVE buck we have ever seen decided to play frogger in front of Alyssa's car and it was unavoidable. So there we were, 4am on the side of the highway, praying we could limp the car to the nearest gas station and we were successful. The damage looked pretty rough but even worse was that Enterprise didn't open until 8am. All we could do was wait as we were both panicking but Cody even more so as this was the trip he was set to propose on and this deer delayed our travels by several hours. Long story short on the car.. well, it was in fact totaled and we did what any logical person would do at the end of our trip.. add as many zip ties and bungee chords as tractor supply would sell us, and have Cody drive it as close to home as possible with Alyssa behind in the rental to be estimated by insurance. Okay, Okay! Back to the juicy proposal story.. Cody, his sister Michelle, and her husband Dan had been scheming nights prior to drive through the Great Smokey Mountains National Park at sunrise and find the most perfect spot to pull off. We walked to the best spot next to this amazing tree with the mountains in the background and that is precisely where Cody asked Alyssa to marry him. Obviously, Alyssa said yes, or you wouldn't be reading this right now. So this brings us to present 2025 where we are so excited to be planning our big day and hope to celebrate with all of you!
