Technically we met in high school.. But we didn’t start seeing each other until later 2020. We both traveled 2 hrs to see each other for the first 6 months (give or take). Jacob lived in Jackson, TN for work and I lived back home in Tupelo, MS while in school. In the early stages of our relationship we were both convinced that soulmates didn’t exist at least not for us. Shortly after.. we fell for each other. Jacob definitely did not want to admit that in the beginning. However, he eventually asked me to be his girlfriend in Miami, FL at the cutest little Brunch spot on May 19th, 2021. Of course, I said yes. As time went on our feelings grew. Jacob went traveling for work (in Midland, TX) and I pushed through the final year of nursing school. I’d be lying if I said the distance was easy. It definitely tested us, but we persevered, and our relationship became stronger than ever. After 3 months (of what felt like torture without my second half) he took a travel assignment closer to home (in Atlanta, GA) early 2022. I was just finishing up school and preparing for boards. 5-hour drives became a breeze. Frequent trips and lots of fun memories were made. I accepted my first big girl job at the tail end of Jacob’s final travel assignment mid 2022. I moved in with my built-in best friend and now future sister-in-law and Jacob got an apartment maybe two miles from ours. Life felt like it was just falling perfectly in place. After a year of working and saving up I purchased my first house. With full intentions of making it a home with Jacob. Somewhere along the way we came to realize that soulmates in fact do exist, and they were standing right beside us all along… & on June 8, 2024, Jacob took me on a trip to NOLA and got down on one knee... of course I said yes, I’ve been in love with this man since day 1. Now I get to love him forever.
