Since the second grade, Brittany has been my ride-or-die, confidant, soul sister, and best friend in the whole world. Through thick and thin, ups and downs, and from near to far, she's been by my side. As kids we were penpals (even though we saw each other at school every day and only lived across town from each other), had campouts in my backyard, and watched the Titanic so many times that once we even watched it backwards (ah the days of VHS). As teenagers and young adults we kept each others secrets, stood up for each other, and showed up for one another when it felt like it was us two against the world. And as adults, many different stages of our journeys have coincided - we both studied abroad at the same time in college and in our late 20s, we moved to the PNW within months of each other. Since then we've spent holidays together, had annual cabin weekends in the fall, and shared many of life's big moments. I've been lucky to call her my bestie for over 25 years, and I literally couldn't imagine this day without her!

Katie and I met while moving into our dorms on a rainy day during sophomore year of college, and became instant friends. As college roommates, we got into all kinds of trouble together, from nights spent "going to the club", aka watching movies and drinking wine at home, to having too many margaritas on Cinco de Mayo and sleeping on our kitchen floor. She has many embarrassing stories she could tell from those 3 years, but lucky for me, I know she'll keep most of them (but not all) to herself. Katie's seen me through some of my best and worst times, and whether I've needed a 5 AM ride from the airport, a midnight walk and vent session, or advice and assurance from across the country, her response has always been, "I'm so there it's insane!" (to quote one of our favorite movies), no judgement or questions asked. I truly don't know where I'd be without her, and I'm thrilled to have her by my side on the biggest of days!

Kate and I love to get lost together. The first time we met in the summer of 2008, we were lost at our college orientation, trying to find the room we were supposed to be in. When classes started in the fall, we found each other again, and became fast friends! When we were 20, we traveled Europe together, getting lost in Switzerland, Germany, and Paris (while also visiting Poland and Iceland!). In Germany, we got so lost we had to hitchhike from a McDonald's, and as we were riding down the curvy and hilly backroads of a small town with our bags in the trunk, we exchanged secret glances, wondering if we'd survive to tell the tale. We protected each other so fiercely on this trip that our fellow travelers and classmates nicknamed us Mama and Baby Bear. She's my favorite international travel buddy, one of my best friends, and I couldn't imagine this day without her by my side!

Growing up I always wanted a sister, and when I was 31, my wish finally came true when my brother married Makenna! It was worth the wait to gain a sister too, because she's one of the most caring, loyal, and creative people I know. We also have eerily similar tastes in foods (hate cucumbers but LOVE pickles, bacon must be crispy, and dislike seafood just to name a few), like to be quiet observers in big groups, and are shy when we first meet new people (but watch out once we become more comfortable around you!). I'm lucky to call her my sister and a friend, and am so happy to have her by my side on our big day!
