Michael and I met September 1, 2018. What a day! My brother planned to bring some of his friends from the military down to Texas from California to enjoy labor day weekend. Fortunately, one of the friends was Michael.

We hit it off right away and once the weekend was over, we exchanged numbers before he headed back to California and I headed back to school. When I got back to my college apartment, I told all of my friends about him and that I was going to marry Michael Smoak one day.

He came back to Texas that Thanksgiving weekend and we went on our first official date-Chuy's. We made the long distance work traveling back and forth between California and Texas for four years while he finished his military career and I completed PA school.

We moved to South Carolina together in August 2022 and got engaged December 2024. In that time frame, he became Millie's Dad and we brought home our Sadie girl. We've bought some land together where we hope to build our dream home. We love our little life together and cannot wait to continue it as husband and wife.
