Our Story

Love at Third Sight

Picture of Love at Third Sight

It all started on a sunny day (I think) at Hilltop Church of the Nazarene....

I sing in the praise band every Sunday at church and I remember being up on stage and the guy who was being interviewed to be the new youth director was in the congregation. He was just staring at me because he thought I was the most gorgeous woman in the room. My first thought was "Uhg. That guy is so creepy. I would never date him." His first thought was "That girl is cute, I am going to date her!" I was also a little disappointed because I was hoping the new youth pastor would be my Prince Charming and that he would just waltz into Hilltop and sweep me off my feet.

Aaron ended up getting hired, so a few months later we actually met at Engage (our young adult group). I figured he would be there so I decided to wear a baggy sweatshirt and sweatpants so that I didn't look cute... It backfired on me because Aaron still thought I looked stunning. I realized that night that he was actually pretty cool! As soon as Engage was over he went home and added me on Facebook and started messaging me right away. I still was determined that I wasn't going to date him. He asked me out for coffee about a week into us talking, and I said no at first, but then agreed to get coffee with him a little while later. I didn't let him pay for me because I didn't know what his intentions were and I didn't want it to be a date.

When we went out for coffee I ended up having a really good time. We just clicked. And after staring into those gorgeous blue eyes for two hours I decided "Okay this guy is pretty cute." He was also super straight forward in his desire to date me, so I agreed to go on actual dates with him. We officially started dating on April 29, 2019.

After many months of anticipation Aaron proposed to me on March 27, 2020 at the Plymouth Township Park, where we spent much of our time. He walked me to a bench that we had previously had several meaningful conversations and proposed there. He also had two of my favorite princesses (Anna and Rapunzel) show up!! I was so excited in that moment and Aaron was so relieved that I said "Yes" that the ring didn't end up on my finger. It wasn't until Anna asked to see my ring that we realized it was still in the box. It was one of the most magical moments of my life even though I was in a daze and I can't remember all of it.

We will be getting married on September 26, 2020 and we are SO excited to start this adventure together!!
