Our Wedding

We met in the summer of 2021 and quickly became close friends. As the fall rolled in, we found ourselves hanging out almost every day from sharing lunches during school and work, to late-night drives filled with music and deep conversations about life. We even spent time playing games with each other's families. Somewhere along the way, our feelings for each other grew, though neither of us would admit it aside from the playful, often-cringe flirting.&nbsp;Eventually, we began going on small "dates," and in November, we shared our first kiss. It was a moment we both felt was special, but Sheldon, not one to wait long, asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend. Her answer? "Not yet," because she wanted to take her time before making it official. After some discussion, we agreed on 12/11/21 as the day we’d make it official (Alyssa, being a numbers person, had to pick a date with a nice symmetry). At midnight that night, Sheldon re-asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend, telling her, “I couldn’t wait another minute.”The following spring, we embarked on a new adventure together, apartment hunting in Cedar Falls as Alyssa chose to attend UNI. We also went to prom in April and took a trip to Florida in June. By the end of the summer, we were officially living in Cedar Falls, settling into our apartment.&nbsp;In early 2023, we started talking more seriously about engagement. We then began house hunting, and the search for our first home began. Just as expected there were plenty of ups and downs in our house hunting journey, but in August, we got engaged, and shortly after, our offer on a house was accepted. Finally, after long months of waiting, we took possession in October and began renovations, officially moving in by November.&nbsp;Since then, life has settled into a beautiful routine. We balance full-time jobs, Alyssa’s schoolwork, and our ever-growing family of animals, along with small projects around the house. We couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead as we continue to grow together not just as individuals, but as a couple. We are each other’s best friends and partners, and we’re looking forward to what this next chapter brings.&nbsp;And so, the journey continues until August 1, 2025, when we become Mr. and Mrs.
