Rob and Amanda met during freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the Spring of 2014. While there was an initial spark, they were both focused on figuring out college life with studying, Amanda with rowing, and a busy social schedule. Their time in Madison was spent making memories with friends and working on their degrees - Rob in Landscape Architecture and Amanda in Communications and Graphic Design.
During their senior year, after both spending the summer of 2016 in Madison along with friends, Rob and Amanda took a greater interest in each other and by the Spring of 2017 were spending lots of time together. After graduating that May, they both had plans to stay in Madison for the summer. Their connection grew quickly over that summer - exploring Wisconsin, visiting Delaware, and seeing each other most days to cook dinner or go for a run. Towards the end of Summer 2017, Rob took a job at a Landscape Architecture firm in Phoenix, AZ and Amanda found work at a gym in Minneapolis.
The Phoenix - Minneapolis long distance relationship was less than ideal, but they saw each other at least once a month. After 8 months of long distance and some serious conversations about their future, they decided to live together in Phoenix. Amanda found a job in Phoenix and moved in May of 2018.
Amanda and Rob loved living in Arizona, especially after moving to Downtown Phoenix where they were walking distance to Roosevelt Row and its trendy restaurants and bars. While living in Arizona, Amanda learned how to ski and Rob got into mountain biking. Living "Out West" was full of adventures including many trips to southern California, Colorado, and around Arizona.
After 5 years in Arizona, Rob and Amanda decided it was time for a change (including cooler summers and more skiing), so they found new jobs and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in June 2022. Life in Utah has been fantastic with a record season of snowfall, new adventures, and new friends.
