Matt and Amanda met through mutual friends. Matt was working with a friend of Amandas from high school and started to hang out with the friend group. The first time meeting each other at Friendsgiving Matt asked the boys “Who the tall blonde” was. Fast forward to being around each other multiple times Amanda started joking with the friends about Matt being “her man”. With time their interest in one another grew and with the help of our mutual friends it became known to one another. After hanging out on multiple occasions Matt took Amanda on a date to Sixty Vines. In the beginning Amanda was finishing college at UCF and Matt was living in Anna Maria Island taking care of his father, Alvin Davis. While living two hours apart from each other they learned to love each other and support each through the season of life each of them were going through. Shortly in to the relationship they made the decision to move to Tampa, Florida to be closer to Matt’s mother, Linnea Davis. Moving in together, starting new jobs, traveling to new places, and growing together while growing as individuals. April 1st, 2022 they purchased their first home and became residents of Clearwater, Florida. They spent a lot of time and money turning this house into a home. That all started with their Painting Party where Amanda’s parents, Vicki and Bruce Bartscher met Matt’s mom. With wine and beer we planned what is now a tradition of both families coming together for the Fourth of July at Anna Maria Island. But our 2023 Fourth of July weekend had a lot of planning, coordinating, and effort behind it. This trip all of the siblings made it to Anna Maria and everyone was together. After a long day at the beach everyone got ready for what Amanda thought was just a nice family dinner at their favorite restaurant on the island, the Sandbar. But before dinner everyone agreed we should get some family pictures at the beach and Matt decided we should go to Bean Point for the pictures. To the Davis family, Bean Point is a very special place and holds a lot of memories. When arriving Matt took Amanda’s hand and started walking her down the beach where he got down on one knee and popped the question that everyone was well aware she was waiting for.
