We first met January of 2019 at DreamBox Learning where we both work. There was an immediate connection once we realized our shared love of hockey (Go Canes) and had both gone to ECU. The first time that we met outside of work was at a Hurricanes game with co-workers. One of them went so far as to tell Amanda, “Don’t ruin him”, and she 100% did. We both knew deep down that we were meant to be together, and this solidified it!

We share a love for the great outdoors but had lost that connection prior to meeting each other. Early on in our relationship, Harry decided to take a fly-fishing class at Orvis as his sister is an avid fly fisher and Amanda tagged along. From then on, we have been able to reconnect with the things that we love the most whether it be hiking, fishing, or just lying in a hammock on the river enjoying an IPA.

During the pandemic we had lots of BIG life and relationship moments. Our jobs moved completely remote, and we moved in together. Working for the same company and being together 24/7...we knew this would test how much we really liked each other LOL. Turns out that we actually enjoy each other’s constant company and living together was EASY. Less than a year after living together we BOUGHT OUR FIRST HOME in Garner NC. Never thought that we would be living in Garner but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

A few months after buying our home on July 3, 2021 we got engaged at Lake Benson during the fireworks. I don't think any engagement plan goes the way you expect but ours is pretty funny. Right before it happened Amanda says, "OMG I bet someone is going to propose tonight". For those of you who know Harry, you know he likes to joke a LOT. He even fake proposed to Amanda a few times early in the relationship. SO, when he got down on one knee that night, it’s no surprise that it took Amanda some time to realize he was being serious, and it was a REAL ring. The verdict is still out on if she said yes that night…

We feel so lucky to have found life partners with one another and cannot wait to get MARRIED!
