Do I need a passport?

Yes!! The Bahamas is an independent country and not apart of the US. We recommend starting the process now if you do not have one yet it takes on average 4-6 weeks to get one. Also, make sure your passport hasn’t expired! Some places require it to be valid even 6 months after you return to the states.

Can I bring a guest?

We're so excited to celebrate this special day surrounded by our closest friends and family. As we are keeping it small and intimate, only those formally invited on your wedding invitation can be accommodated. If you have a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and when you RSVP.

Where will the celebrations take place?

The ceremony and reception will take place on Johnny's Cay which is a private island owned by Hope Town Inn. There will be a designated boat we have reserved to shuttle you from the resort to the island and to bring you back at the end of the night.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The wedding will be outdoors primarily. The weather in the Bahamas is usually mid to high 70's with a gentle wind around that time of year. We are hoping for a sunny beautiful day, but if it is rainy there will be a backup plan.

What is the dress attire?

For the wedding ceremony and reception we are asking for everyone to dress in Island semi-formal attire. This would be defined as a sport coat and khakis, suits, long/midi dresses.

What will the food be like?

We are doing a buffet for our reception dinner. There will be plenty of options ranging from different things. When you RSVP please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies!

When are RSVPs due?

We kindly ask as stated on the invitation that you RSVP by November 23rd! This will assure that we have everyone’s name for our seating chart, ect. And also a final count for food and booze!

What is the currency in the Bahamas?

The Bahamas currency is Bahamian dollar. You do not need to exchange your money as it is a 1:1 ratio, and everywhere will accept American dollars. When using cash in the Bahamas they may give you change in Bahamian dollars, but it is all equivalent.
