Well-known for its wave-worn Dolomite/limestone ledges, underwater caves and stirring view of Lake Michigan, the park is a popular attraction. Fishermen, skilled scuba divers, photography buffs and nature observers find the park a great delight. A half-mile hiking trail stretches through the forest of birch, maple and beech trees and links up with several miles of trails in the adjacent Whitefish Dunes State Park, which borders the park on three sides.

Peninsula State Park, established in 1909, is a 3,776-acre state treasure on Door County peninsula and is considered Wisconsin's most complete park. Recreational opportunities are boundless. Peninsula State Park offers over 460 campsites, three group camps, a summer theater, an 18-hole golf course, sand beach, bike trails, a lighthouse and eight miles of Door County shoreline. The rollicking waves that skip towards Peninsula's sky high bluffs are part of the Niagara Escarpment.

Al Johnson’s is an authentic Swedish family owned restaurant where you can find goats grazing the sod roof. It’s quite a sight, and it’s made this place one of the most famous restaurants in Door County. Inside the casual, carpeted dining room, young ladies in Scandinavian garb dish out limpa bread and Swedish meatballs. The menu consists of a variety of Swedish fare, from pancakes with lingonberries to Swedish meatballs, whitefish, sandwiches, salads, and a variety of hot and cold plates.

Visit Door County Coffee to enjoy breakfast, lunch and a hot cup of coffee or espresso drink on their patio or for an afternoon of browsing their Gift Shop filled with everything coffee, gourmet foods and all around cool stuff. Since the spring of 1998, PC Junction has built a reputation as a fun, friendly, family train-theme restaurant. The counter, which is made up of old doors, is where the train delivers your food and drinks! So, if you're not in a hurry and can wait to be seated, it is the most popular place in the restaurant! When seated at the counter, you order your food from your server, and when you hear the train bell, your food is about to be delivered ... by train.

Wilson's Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor has been located in the heart of Ephraim since 1906. A classic Door County landmark that possesses the enchantment to take the youngest visitors back in time with its old-fashioned soda fountain and ice cream specialties, home-brewed draft root beer, flame broiled burgers and juke boxes playing the classics.

Where Great Lakes history comes alive! Located along Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin’s busy working waterfront, the Door County Maritime Museum showcases the area’s rich maritime roots. The museum features interactive exhibits, and offers tours of the restored tugboat John Purves, along with the Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower. Hard-working anglers, brave ship captains, skilled craftsmen, bold inventors and lonely lighthouse keepers are just some of the personalities you’ll discover in the galleries of the museum.

A great local dive bar with cheap drinks, pool tables and a friendly clientele. The AC Tap started as a farmers' bar, but to many locals and visitors alike, Door County wouldn't be Door County without it. Home of AJ Dillion's favorite chicken wings!

After hopping the car ferry to the island (the only way to get there!), you can bike, drive, or Segway around 40+ miles of island backroads, check out historic museums, explore the stone-covered Schoolhouse Beach, get transported to medieval Norway at the Stavkirke church, visit lavender farms, or hop a second ferry and experience remote Rock Island State Park.
