Amanda and Kelsey met for the first time when they were in high school (thanks K Frings!) and stayed in touch over the years. Kelsey played basketball at Bradley and Amanda golfed at UNI, so when Bradley would travel to UNI, Amanda would come to the games to cheer for her favorite blonde 😊

Fast forward to 2015, Kelsey was living in Madison and Amanda was living in Milwaukee. Their mutual friend Kelly Frings facilitated a re-connection when she invited Amanda over to Kelsey’s apartment for a night out on the town and a badger game (thanks again K Frings!). This is where the love story gets good… there really is such thing as love at first sight.

After that weekend, Kelsey went out of town to visit her brother and finally mustered up the courage to text Amanda. From that moment on, they didn’t stop talking.

Amanda had tickets to the Shania Twain concert the following weekend and invited Kelsey to the concert. Amanda is a huge Shania Twain fan and has been her entire life, so she was pumped for this concert. Let’s just say that Kelsey

spent the entire next week trying to memorize the lyrics to every single song so that she could sing along at the concert.

After the official first date at the concert, they spent most weekends together, exploring both Madison and Milwaukee. After a couple years of dating, Kelsey and Amanda decided it was time to take the next step and get their first apartment

together in downtown Milwaukee. They immediately fell in love with the city of Milwaukee and continued to have quite a busy social life.

In April of 2018, their first wiener dog was born (Tito) and suddenly Amanda and Kelsey were parents! They took Tito everywhere.. to work, the bar, out to dinner… basically anywhere that they went, you’d see their trusty side kick. In October of 2019, they bought their first condo together in the Third Ward. Tito loved his new home, but he was missing one thing… a brother! So the family grew to four when they welcomed their second wiener dog, Jack, into the world on Christmas Eve!

Fast forward and COVID hit, which has been an extremely tough time for everyone across the world. During the lock down period, Amanda and Kelsey spent time together doing projects, playing games and just being present because they had nothing else to do with their free time. Although they had been together for five years, they formed an even deeper relationship, built an even stronger appreciation for one another and came out of the lock down period even stronger than before. Kelsey figured that if they could survive a pandemic lock down together, they could make it through anything and proposed to Amanda on the rooftop of Benelux in the winter domes. Amanda surprised Kelsey by re-proposing a few months later on top of a mountain in the Tetons (because who doesn’t want to be proposed to?!). Needless to say, it was a very memorable few months filled with a lot of celebration and excitement for bigger things to come.
