Although Scott and Amanda went to the same high school and grew up less than 2 miles apart, their love story doesn’t really begin until 2019. Sure, they knew of each other from mutual friends and parties during the years, but they owe their reconnection to Scott’s Sunday night courage to slide into Amanda’s DM’s. Who would have believed that very romantic “Hey, Amanda Budde is pretty hot I should say what’s up” thought and the chain of events that were about to occur would lead to them becoming husband and wife.


From that very first DM, there was an instant connection. They had their first “date” a week later and it all went quickly and naturally without hesitation from there - this was special. Scott spent that first summer spending many late nights crammed into Amanda’s bottom bunk in her Belmar shore house with her four roommates. The two experienced a lot over the past four years, which has helped them grow closer to one another. From gallivanting in different countries, their shared love of delicious food, purchasing their first home together, and many many weddings attended; each adventure contributed to their fairytale. Another thing called Covid, forced them to get to know one another REALLY WELL and enjoy the little moments of day to day life living together. During this time they also got the opportunity to immerse themselves and really get to know each other’s families - that closeness with family being a core value they share. Scott’s love of sports has rubbed off on Amanda, yet Amanda’s love of trashy reality shows still has not rubbed off on Scott (so he says) but her love of Disney has. Amanda also introduced Scott to her dog Buddy who has now become THEIR dog. Amanda hates to admit it, but Buddy now likes Scott more than her (again… so he says).


On June 18th, 2022, Scott knew it was time to take the next step. After a round of golf, Amanda wanted Scott to meet her and his family at the park, but Scott had a convenient excuse as to why he couldn’t go. Scott’s sister-in-law played an oscar winning performance that kept Amanda on her toes, got her to wear a real outfit and some makeup and even get a bit annoyed at the boys for not wanting to meet up. Little did Amanda know, Scott was already at the park plotting his next move (or last minute figuring out a plan). After sheer panic and some running, Scott hid in the bushes and once she passed, he snuck up behind Amanda and got down on one knee. Spoiler alert: she said YES. If one big moment wasn’t enough, they then wasted no time for the next big milestone, Scott and Amanda found their first home only 10 days after being engaged.


Fast forward to the present- they are looking forward to their next big milestone in life, becoming husband and wife.

We are so excited to celebrate our wedding and our future with all of our loved ones. It will not be the same without Amanda’s mother, Rosemarie, but we know she is watching over us and will be there drinking a cosmo and dancing on the wedding day. She got to witness the love between us and it’s comforting to know she was able to see her daughter find the love of her life and got a chance to know and love her son-in-law to be.
