Amanda and Kyle met in the summer of 2014 by a chance encounter and reconnected months later. After their first date, which included seeing "The Maze Runner" and talking through the entire movie (Amanda had already seen it but didn't want to pass up the opportunity lol) they were pretty much inseparable since that day.

They spent the next couple years going on tons of adventures, celebrating milestones, hiking, lotsss of movies and growing together as partners and individuals. They both were able to experience graduating from college, getting their first adult jobs, living on their own, and traveling to Las Vegas, California, Hawaii, all over the West Coast.

On September 29th, 2019, Kyle had convinced Amanda to finally go on a hike with him. He had been asking her all summer to hike Tolmie Peak with him but she kept blowing him off every weekend. She agreed to go last minute, and they grabbed their gear and headed to the mountains. As they got closer to their destination, they realized it was snowing, which was unexpected for September. They were totally unprepared! Amanda started to get nervous and asked him to reconsider the hike, but he convinced her to at least try it out, and if it was too hard hiking in the snow they could turn around. She reluctantly agreed.

Once they parked, they put on their sweatshirts and headed up to the hike. Once they started, the snow falling on them had stopped, the sun came out, and they were greeted with the most beautiful, snow covered views.

Once at the top, they took in the view overlooking a beautiful, frozen lake with a view of the mountain range, and Kyle asked Amanda if she wanted to try out his new tripod so that they could finally get a picture taken together on one of their hikes. She stood and waited as he set up the camera, and he told her he had to grab a prop for their photo.

He surprised her with a diamond ring and proposed to her, on top of the mountain, just the two of them, while the "photo" was secretly video recording the whole thing!

You can probably assume how she answered his question :)
