Amanda and Sam first met in August of 2015 when Amanda and a friend joined her sister Brittany and her friends on a float trip in Niobrara. Under the moonlight, the two sat by the fire getting to know one another. After the trip Amanda & Sam stayed in touch for a few months. At the time Amanda was in Denver and Sam was in Omaha and neither had any intention of changing that. Amanda recalls telling her sister that "Sam is the kinda boy that you marry" and she just wasn't ready for that. The romance inevitably fizzled with both moving on with their lives.

Fast forward to the end of 2020. Amanda had just moved back to Omaha and was celebrating New Year's Eve at a friend's place when Sam shows up. After a little champagne, the same spark that they had on that float trip was instantly reignited with a midnight kiss.

From that point on, they were inseparable; moving in with each other almost immediately it was like they had always known each other. The two quickly found that they were immensely different but were a complimentary balance to each other. Amanda is the extroverted, energetic, and kind; self described as a human golden retriever, she makes friends where ever she goes. Sam on the other hand is calm, grounded, charming, and spends his free time online gaming with lifelong friends. Together the two have lifted one another up and grounded each other when needed. Built upon a foundation of trust, communication, and laughter the two fell madly in love.

In 2022, on a trip to Mexico, at the edge of the Sacred Cenote of Chichen Itza, Sam proposed and obviously Amanda said yes.

So here we are, planning a wedding!
