Our Wedding

Our story began on June 8th, 2023 at the Adler Planetarium. Jake's company hosted an event that Amanda's company attended. Shortly before leaving, Jake caught Amanda's eye so she asked one of his colleagues who "Mr. Clean with a killer beard" was. He fatefully introduced them and they talked until the evening ended, exchanged numbers, then went on their way. A little over a week later, they went on their first date to a Chicago staple: The Lodge. From there, they talked every day with the understanding that Amanda would be snowbirding to Florida that winter (thanks to MVB - see wedding party). Those 5 months flew by and soon enough, Amanda was back in the city... "coincidentally" living half a mile down the block from Jake. In March of 2025, ‘see you soon’ turned into ‘see you at home’ when Amanda moved in with Jake. A few months later in the early hours of June 19th, they headed to the lake to watch the sunrise (Jake with a proposal kit of the ring, emergency nail polish, and a pair of contacts for Amanda in tow). Unbeknownst to her, that two year first-date-anniversary sunrise walk was actually a rainy 5am proposal in disguise.
