“At last, bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh”—two hearts from opposite ends of the country, drawn together by faith and devotion. Daniel, a warm-hearted soul from Southern Texas, and Amanda, a sweetheart from New York, each hoping to find someone who mirrored their love for God, have found one another—a love story only just beginning.
It all began during a mission weekend in Bronx, NY called Seeking the Lost, where Daniel first caught a glimpse of Amanda. To him, she was the embodiment of beauty, “the most beautiful woman in the room.” Mustering his courage, he approached her with a simple, “Hi, I’m Daniel, nice to meet you!” But before he could catch his breath, he vanished back into the crowd, leaving Amanda puzzled by his hasty retreat.
What started as a fleeting moment turned into something much more profound. A few days later, fate intervened as Daniel’s friend played the role of matchmaker, connecting them once more. Their initial phone conversations soon blossomed into long discussions filled with laughter, dreams, and shared faith, despite the distance between them—Daniel was in Ohio while Amanda remained in New York.
Daniel finally asked Amanda out on a date, and his excitement was infectious! They met at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians for mass. It was fitting since they believe it was Jesus and Mary who brought them together.
Despite the distance, their relationship grew with endless texts, phone calls, FaceTimes, and online movie nights. Plane rides and road trips became the new “norm.” They cherished the time they would spend together knowing eventually they’d have to part.
As their love deepened through prayer and a commitment to faith, they consecrated their relationship to Mary. This strengthened their bond even more and is a reminder of God’s promises in their lives.
Eager for a future filled with love and a deep devotion to each other, Daniel and Amanda’s journey is leading them towards the altar. They’re excited to embrace this next chapter together with Jesus at the center! ❤️❤️
