Nicholas was playing frisbee with our friend Jordan Magie who he knows through work and Amanda knows from church. They were talking and catching up on life, Nicholas was saying he might eventually want to be in a career that is more kingdom-minded which made Jordan think Amanda might like this guy. Jordan asked if he was dating anybody and Nicholas said no and jokingly added "you got someone?" And Jordan said "actually I do!" :)

Meanwhile, Morgan Magie texts Amanda saying "would you consider yourself outdoorsy?" She said yes but thought the Magies were planning a trip or something. Morgan then asked Amanda to go to dinner without telling her why but finally said "we've located your husband" :)

Before Morgan and Amanda went to dinner, Amanda went to a Stars game where Morgan texted her saying "how do you feel about the Dallas Stars hockey team?" because it just so happened that Nicholas and Amanda were both at the same game 1 of the playoffs , Amanda with her friend Tori's 7 y/o son and Nicholas with his dad, but they still hadn't met.

Morgan ended up "pitching" Nicholas to Amanda at dinner and she told Morgan to give him her number. Nicholas texted her the next day, called her the following day to ask her on a date, and he took her to a Rangers game that Friday.

They both knew very early on that they wanted to marry one another, seeing each other often and meeting each other's friends, family, and community quickly.

Six short months later, they were engaged :)
