What kind of wedding is this?
Think adult summer camp! Campfires, s’mores, hiking! Our wedding will take place on October 12th. However we have rented out a summer camp for the weekend and we want you to join us. This will allow our friends and family to not only celebrate our wedding with us but also spend a weekend away camping in the beautiful Adirondacks.
What's the cost of staying the weekend and included?
For 2 nights stay, 4 meals, and alcohol for the weekend it’ll cost each adult staying $220. This $220 will be collected on the day of check in by Forest Lake Camp staff. Saturday night will be $150. If you are just attending the wedding there is no fee. We aren’t charging you to come to our wedding. lol :)
Cash, check (made out to Forest Lake Camp), or credit card is accepted day of arrival.
You will also have access to 823 acres of property, 25 acres of lake with a beach, 20 miles of hikingike trails, and summer camp activities. Such as paddle boarding canoes, kayaks, soccer fields, volleyball, kickball fields, axe throwing, archery, etc.
The 4 meals include
Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch, Saturday dinner provided by Rich and Amanda at reception. Sunday brunch before heading home.
Do I have to stay the weekend?
Nope, but you'll be missing out on all the fun activities. Please be aware that there are not many hotels in the area. This may be the only lodging available. If you wish to only stay the night of the wedding please reach out to Rich or Amanda. Price for night only will be $150. Your cabin assignment will be sent to you prior to arrival, money will be collected day of by staff.
We don't know at this time if we will be able to accommodate anyone who is unable to go home night of as planned. Please plan accordingly. We will update if we have more information regarding this.
what will the Lodging arrangements look like?
Right now, there are 20+ cabins available, sleeping anywhere between 6-10 people. Depending on how many people will be staying will determine how cabins will be assigned. If you have an special request for cabin buddies please reach out to Rich and Amanda.
The Cabins.....?
Each cabins bunk numbers are different, but there is a mix of "cots" and bunkbeds. These are standard summer camp beds so please pack what you think you will need for comfort. Almost all cabins have 2 showers, 2 sinks, and 2 toilets. There is also electricity in the cabins as well! The cabins also have lockers if you feel the need to lock away personal items bring a lock with you as well.
Cabins are not AC equipped or heated. Sheets, pillow, and camp blanket will be provided please pack any additional bedding you think you may require.
Remember Adirondack nights can be chilly.
When is Check in/Check out
Check in is at 0300 pm on Friday, October 11th, 2024. Check out is Sunday 1100am on October 13th, 2024.
Can I bring a cooler?
Yes! However there is no kitchen or grill to use since your meals are provided! Feel welcomed to bring snacks and drinks for in between activities.
Can I bring my kids?
Short answer yes. We welcome families to bring their children to stay the weekend onsite. However to give our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely request no children at the ceremony or reception. That being said we will be hiring Camp Staff for Saturday night to babysit children staying the weekend. Children staying the weekend will also have 5 meals provided for them. At this time per child cost for the weekend is $150.
Booze?
On top of wine and beer during the weekend, we will be having a self serve open bar of wine, beer, and pre-made cocktails for the cocktail hour/reception. If you wish to bring your own liquor, feel welcome too. Soda, water, lemonade, and tea also provided.
Where is the Ceremony going to be?
Weather permitted, the ceremony will be located at the camp in an area known as The Chapel. This is an outdoor space with a small hike. The hike should only take 5-7 minutes. This hike is not paved and is uphill. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes up to the ceremony and back down to the reception and either keeping those on or changing shoes once at the cocktail hour. The camp will be providing rides via a golf cart for those who require it. Please schedule in time as there are only so many golf carts and can only hold so many people at a time. There will still be a small walk to The Chapel even with the golf cart. We HIGHLY recommend that you start heading up to the ceremony location 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. We also recommend that anyone staying the weekend make the hike up to the Chapel Friday night to see how long it takes for you to make it up.
If weather does not allow for an outdoor ceremony, ceremony will be located at The Mess Hall
