While it may not have been love at first sight, Alex and Amanda's paths have been crossing since 2007 when they were both students at Syracuse University. The first time they recall meeting was in Stella's Diner in 2008 briefly via mutual friends during a Sunday brunch after late night partying and bar hopping. Semesters went by and although they had the exact same double majors with all of the same professors, requirements and fellow classmates, they never had a class together.

Fast forward to the spring of 2011, Amanda was a senior and in attendance of a Syracuse Alumni Networking event at the Lubin House. Alex had graduated one year prior and was the youngest alumni on the panel. The two hit it off and spent the remainder of the night discussing their parallel experiences at Syracuse as well as what they were looking forward to in the future. Although it may seem like the rest is history, the story continues...

A year later, Amanda was leaving happy hour after work one night when she made quick eye contact across the bar with someone who looked familiar. Alex nervously looked away and pretended not to see her which she took as a challenge to approach him. The two ended up sharing drinks and laughs throughout the rest of the night as they watched the Miami Heat win the NBA championship!

Everyone knows that Amanda and Alex love to eat! Specifically, Amanda has a sweet tooth with a major weakness for Sprinkles Cupcakes and Ice Cream.

The day before the proposal, Amanda's cousins Danielle and Olivia asked her to join them at a promotional event at Sprinkles the next night where there would be free giveaways. She was so excited that she couldn't even sleep! What could be better than free cupcakes?

After a long day at work and lack of sleep, Amanda decided that she needed to make the responsible decision to go to bed early and miss the event. Danielle and Olivia were nervous so they got in touch with her two friends, Carly and Stephanie, who Amanda was having dinner with that night and told them to bring her to Sprinkles by 11pm.

Amanda, Carly, and Stephanie, had a wonderful dinner and made their way uptown to Sprinkles for free cupcakes. When they got there, Danielle and Olivia were outside the store. Amanda looked at them with surprise and said "What are you guys doing outside?" The two cousins looked at each other and handed her a box of cupcakes and said "Go Inside!" Amanda looked down at the box of cupcakes and noticed it said "I Do" so she ran inside to find Alex on one knee.

After Alex popped the question (to which Amanda responded "OBVIOUSLY!") the pair's siblings Brad, Rachel, Sara and Oren popped out of a secret spot they had been hiding in.
