Tom and I met through our mutual friend and best man, Matt, while I was working. Matt and I worked together at a local grocery store and would often work at adjacent stations. One day, Tom came in to visit Matt on his shift and Matt introduced us. Funny enough, Tom used to work at the same grocery store shortly before I started and only just recently resigned. We joked that I stole his job.

After meeting, we became friends and would often hangout together after work. On June 12, 2013, Tom and I began to officially date. I guess you could say I stole his job and his heart.

On Saturday, December 1, 2018, Tom surprised me with a "surprise early Christmas gift". Tom told me he purchased us tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. As an avid Harry Potter fan since the 5th grade, I was psyched to see the play. We watched the show and during the intermission between acts one and two, Tom excused himself and went into the lobby for refreshments. When Tom came back, he was holding a long box for a wand in his hand. Tom then asked me, "I know this is already a great day, but would you like it to make it the best day ever?" I told him yes and then he opened the box to reveal an engagement ring on the wand.
