I still remember the first time I saw Amanda. She was a part of our high school’s dance team, and I happened to spot her walking across the commons after school. I knew instantly in that moment that I needed to know her. I was a shy freshman so I asked our mutual friend to see if she would be interested in getting to know me. This decision to timidly reach out through a friend forever changed my life for the better. Amanda has been my better half going on eight years now. We’ve moved from Colorado, to Florida, to Texas, and back to Colorado all within the span of the last four years. These moves, especially Florida, was incredibly difficult for us. Instead of drifting apart, our love flourished even more. We became even closer than imaginable. After being back in Colorado for a year, I was able to save up enough money to get her an engagement ring, and now we’re finally on our way to getting married!!!

I now know what love feels like because of Amanda. She has given me so much throughout our relationship and has never asked for anything in return. I’ve felt that warm fuzzy feeling because of her. I have a huge playlist of love songs now because I finally understand what they’re signing about. She has helped me grow emotionally, mentally, and personally. I truly feel like I’m a better person because of her. I would be nowhere near the person I am today without her. I can only dream to repay her for everything she has done for me. Lucky for me, I get to work at it for the rest of my life.
