Amanda's POV: Encouraged by my friends, I decided to make a deal that I would create a Hinge profile and go on one date in the upcoming new year of 2023. ONE date, that was the agreement. I will admit, I was quite skeptical of an app, and so I didn't save the numbers of the guys from the dating app in my phone, instead I used nicknames to describe them to my friends. Devin's profile picture was him and Peter, his best man's golden retriever. Honestly, I swiped because of the cute dog with a good looking guy. After FaceTiming "golden retriever boy" aka Devin a few times, I decided he would be perfect for my deal. Devin drove to Grand Forks, ND the first week of January to take me out to dinner at the Toasted Frog. He showed up in his F150 pickup truck and parallel parked it in one attempt, so of course he landed a second date. Next thing I knew, Devin was meeting Luna for her approval and then disgracing the NDSU Bison by wearing UND colors for a hockey game. I deleted my Hinge profile a few weeks after my ONE date and now I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my "golden retriever boy."
Devin's POV: After matching with a beautiful brunette who had a cute puppy on a dating app, I knew I had to convince her to go on a date with me. After countless texts and a few evenings talking on FaceTime, she agreed. For our first date I took her to The Toasted Frog in Grand Forks. The highlight of the date was meeting her puppy Luna when I dropped her off at home. After this date I knew I wouldn’t be needing a dating app any longer. Over the next weeks and months we went on countless more dates, trips and adventures. Fast forward to late summer 2024, I decided I was going to ask her to marry me while my parents were visiting her family lake cabin. I may have blacked out and forgot what I wanted to say… but nonetheless she said yes!
