Brett and Amanda met in August of 2019 at Frostburg State University. Brett earned his degree from there and would frequently return on the weekends to visit friends who were still enrolled. It just so happens that Allie, Amanda's younger sister, was renting the room in a house that Brett had lived in previously! Amanda was visiting Allie one weekend and Brett was there as well, celebrating a mutual friend's birthday! Brett and Amanda met then but went on their separate ways.

Fast forward to October 2021: 2 years later the couple reconnected at a friend's wedding. Allie and Brett were in the wedding party of their friends Matt and Sam, and Amanda attended as Allie's plus one. Brett and Amanda kept making eyes at each other all night, but both of them too nervous to talk to one another. All it took was some liquid courage! At the last song of the evening, Amanda finally asked Brett to dance. The two spent the rest of the night dancing, flirting, and hanging out at the casino with their friends. The rest is history...
