Amanda and John first met in May of 2020. They quickly began hanging out every day when Amanda wasn’t working weekend shifts at the Target warehouse or John wasn’t out fishing in his kayak. The 2 bonded over their love for their pets, Jax (dog) and Jude (cat), their interest in trying new restaurants in Savannah, hanging with friends & spending time outdoors (1st picture together above).

They soon met each other’s families since these were the most important people in their lives and began exploring other cities around the Lowcountry. Pictured above, Charleston. This is where Amanda began trying her first seafood thanks to John’s encouragement …

Amanda and John combined their friend groups within Savannah in no time. Whether it was out on the water fishing, playing co-ed volleyball, exploring the city, weekly trivia, or hitting the bars with friends, it was always a good time.

They started spending holidays with each other’s families and going on more trips together. Always making sure the pets were left under good supervision while away :)

They enjoyed new experiences together in the mountains of NC each summer, sneaking away from their busy jobs whenever possible!

In spring of 2023, Amanda moved to Valdosta, GA to move in with John for the first time and finally end the long distance! While it was hard to leave Savannah, a new adventure awaits.

They spent 2 years in Valdosta, making lots of new friends, traveling to friends’ weddings, growing in their careers with John now as a Branch Manager & Amanda working remotely for Target, playing tennis/fishing on the weekends, & even expanding their furry friends to 3 with adopting Banks!

John & Amanda got to take their first trip out of the US together boating from south FL to the Bahamas with friends, trip of a lifetime!

In December of 2024, John proposed to Amanda while out to dinner with friends in Thomasville, GA! Making their 4.5 year relationship, officially a lifetime commitment.

They got to celebrate their engagement with all their closest friends & family in Florida and began their wedding planning process!

As of March 2025, they are officially home owners and now living in Murrells Inlet, SC just south of Myrtle Beach after an offer from John’s company to move him to a new branch. They’re enjoying the proximity to the coast & looking forward to all their wedding festivities ahead!

And at the young age of 5 and 2, Jude and Banks are enjoying their retirement sitting outside on their new screened in patio listening to the wildlife :)
