We had both moved to attend respiratory therapy school at Midwestern State University and neither one of us knew anybody in town. One day, somebody in our class started a study group and invited anyone who wanted to come. I remember making myself go so that I could get to know my classmates better. That's how Adrian and I really started talking to each other and becoming friends- although it took a while because he was pretty shy at first.

Ambos nos habíamos mudado para asistir a la escuela de terapia respiratoria en la Universidad Estatal de Midwestern y ninguno de los dos conocía a nadie en la ciudad. Un día, alguien en nuestra clase inició un grupo de estudio e invitó a cualquiera que quisiera asistir. Recuerdo que me obligué a ir para poder conocer mejor a mis compañeros de clase. Así fue como Adrian y yo realmente comenzamos a hablar y a hacernos amigos, aunque tomó un tiempo porque él era bastante tímido al principio.

We slowly started talking and studying together more and more. Lots of times, we would be the only two free to study, so we would just go study with each other. This led to us spending a lot of time together; we got to know each other well and became really close friends in the process.

Poco a poco comenzamos a hablar y estudiar juntos más y más. Muchas veces, éramos los únicos dos libres para estudiar, así que simplemente íbamos a estudiar juntos. Esto nos llevó a pasar mucho tiempo juntos; nos conocimos bien y nos hicimos muy buenos amigos en el proceso.

After about a year of school, during the summer of 2023, we realized that maybe we were more than just good friends. Adrian asked me out officially and then we officially started dating on September 8th, 2023.

Después de aproximadamente un año de escuela, durante el verano de 2023, nos dimos cuenta de que tal vez éramos más que solo buenos amigos. Adrián me pidió que saliéramos oficialmente y luego comenzamos a salir oficialmente el 8 de septiembre de 2023.

I don't think our classmates were as surprised as we thought they would be.... apparently, everybody figured we would date except for us. We dated the whole second year of respiratory school- we studied together, went to clinic, and enjoyed our time hanging out and going on dates in Wichita Falls.

No creo que nuestros compañeros de clase estuvieran tan sorprendidos como pensábamos que estarían... aparentemente, todos pensaron que saldríamos, excepto nosotros. Salimos durante todo el segundo año de la escuela de respiratoria; estudiamos juntos, fuimos a la clínica y disfrutamos de nuestro tiempo juntos y de nuestras citas en Wichita Falls.

After navigating graduation, moving back to DFW, and starting our first real jobs, we celebrated one year of dating with a date to the zoo.

Después de graduarnos, mudarnos de nuevo a DFW y comenzar nuestros primeros trabajos reales, celebramos un año de citas con una salida al zoológico.

On April 27th, 2025, after a weekend full of sentimental dates, Adrian proposed and asked me to spend forever with him. He took me to a beautiful lookout spot during sunset, and it couldn't have been more special.

We know that God brought us together and couldn't be more excited to become husband and wife!

El 27 de abril de 2025, después de un fin de semana lleno de fechas sentimentales, Adrián me propuso y me pidió que pasara la eternidad con él. Me llevó a un hermoso mirador durante la puesta de sol, y no podría haber sido más especial.
