On October of 2013, Patrick joined a team to compete in a Tough Mudder. His teammates were mutual friends of Amanda's who asked her to join the team. . This would have been Amanda's 3^rd Tough Mudder run so many of the team members started to ask her questions to understand what to expect. Patrick was one of them. Part of the preparation process included selecting a theme. It was decided to dress up like super heroes. Patrick was Superman and Amanda was Wonder woman – fate? The day before the run, Patrick's Ford started having maintenance issues, so he asked Amanda if she could pick him up on the way (Was this part of his game plan? Yes, this was revealed a year later). Throughout the run, Patrick and Amanda teamed up for many obstacles.

First date came the next day. They have been team mates since then.

Winston Churchill once said, "My most Brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me." On May 23^rd, 2015 Patrick started to agree with him.

Two months prior to the proposal Patrick had finally worked up the courage to ask Amanda's Father, Lorenzo, to grant his blessing on the union and it was so, received. After which a ring was found, procured, and stowed away until a plan worthy of the task could be engineered.

After almost 2 apprehensive months of relocating the shimmering symbol of lifelong commitment from hiding spot to hiding spot as to ensure the secret was kept, Patrick casually breached the topic of going skydiving for the weekend with Amanda. She of course immediately agreed, if for no other reason than to touch a cloud, (which she did).

Meanwhile, Patrick sought to contact all family and friends residing in the central Texas area to include them in the plan, but with a disclaimer of caution as to not give Amanda any hints. After falling from 10,000 ft. with windblown hair and a rush of adrenaline pumping through her system Amanda proceeded to the truck, content with the day's events and had already begun instagraming the excitement. So there, in the parking lot Patrick got down on one knee and asked for Amanda's hand ;).
