Mine and Amanda's story started with a friendship that just clicked. I was not really sure about some things in life, and with Amanda being fresh out of college, ready to dive into life, it was actually a friendship that was meant to be.

Before long, we were inseparable best friends. Amanda was always there - she'd show up at every milestone, every performance, and every low moment; ready to support me no matter what. I was in return there for her to start on life after college, pumping her up for her first year as a teacher.

They always say your partner should be your best friend, but having that before being together is really the glue that holds us together. No matter how rough or grumpy a day got, Amanda was there, still caring, still sticking around. She always made me feel important. My feelings were always valid.

I wish I could pinpoint exactly when I started to love her more. But one day, I just said to myself, "if she loves this much as her best friend, maybe she'd love me as something more". It turns out, she loved a whole lot more than I could have ever known. Never telling me, because in her heart, I wasn't worth losing over the unknown.

That leap was the best thing we never planned.

Then came the proposal. We planned a spring break trip to Mexico, everyone kept asking if we were going to get engage there... Amanda played it cool, saying it would happen next summer. She even checked with me over and over again to make sure I knew it was NOT happening; just to throw me off!

She kept saying "Everyone gets engaged in Mexico, it doesn't hold any special meaning to us, so why would we get engaged there?!" I had no idea Amanda had been planning to pop the question the whole time.

Our relationship is perfectly balanced. She is the "sun" to my "moon". Amanda lights up the word, my world. Our love grew out of friendship, laughter, and loyalty. Now, we are planning the rest of our lives together!
