Our Story
A love story 15+ years in the makin'. In 2005, they met in the halls of Roslyn Middle School, if we’re not mistaken. Well…maybe? It could’ve been earlier — at Temple Sinai or the JCC — it’s all a little hazy.
Their earliest memories of each other are from 8th grade. This was when “iChatting” was all the rage. Into early high school, video chats with friends — from Roslyn, Tyler Hill & Scatico — would go later & later, and sometimes never end.
In December 2009, they were sophomores at RHS. Amanda & Jacob shared their first kiss, at a house party no less.
Video chats with friends turned into 1-on-1s, as the connection was clear. But feelings for Amanda, Jacob did fear.
Over the years, their relationship would wax & wane. But from Syracuse to Maryland to Puerto Vallarta, there was a flickering flame.
After college, Amanda had no interest, even despite Jacob’s insistence. Hope was all but lost. Until one Saturday in fall 2018, Lindsey Weiner, with nothing else to say, told Jacob to “text Litman a ‘hey’!”.
Jacob’s text was met with much resistance. That was until Amanda decided to reward his persistence.
After a first date at Sushi Yasuda in NYC, Amanda knew it was meant to be. Fast forward 2.5 years, after moving between Kips Bay & the UES, to Roslyn & Atlantic Beach, they were ready for a new city to breach.
In March 2021, off to DC they went. With new jobs, new careers, and Millie, most of their time is spent.
But every so often, they come back to visit family & friends. On October 29, 2022, at Glen Head Country Club, a new chapter of their life begins, and an old one ends.
