During the summer of 2019, CJ and Amanda crossed paths during days of quad riding with friends without knowing one another. The pair ran into each other again that summer at Montage Mountain water park due to mutual friends. However, the pair never truly connected until an unexpected night at the Montfort Cabana Bar. Both being invited there by another party, the two found each chatting amongst a mutual group of friends. They later connected more individually when CJ asked Amanda to continue the night at another local bar. The couple found themselves talking the rest of the night. There is where their love story began. CJ and Amanda soon found themselves enjoying date nights, traveling, and enjoying the simple things in life together. The couple have happily been together 6+ years.

CJ and Amanda began living together at the end of 2020. On May 13th, 2023, CJ proposed to Amanda at Cumberland Park in Nashville, Tennessee. They later purchased their first home at the end of 2024. CJ and Amanda live with their senior cat Astro and sibling kitties Jalapeno and Habanero.
