Nathan and Amanda met in 2020 but did not officially start dating until July 2024. Nathan came to Bellevue Young Adults (YA) while attending nursing school at the University of Memphis. Around the same time, Amanda was looking for a godly community and a church home during the pandemic. Even during troubling times and even though they could not see it, the Lord was paving the way for both of them in his timing.

As both of them grew in their walks with the Lord and actively served in YA, Amanda was walking through the possibility of going overseas for missions. Nathan had wanted to pursue Amanda for a while, but he decided not to out of respect for her to avoid interfering with God's plans for her life. All the while, he persisted to pray for her, and even her future husband that she would one day be with someone who would love her the same way Christ loves us. Little did he know, he was praying for himself.

During the spring of 2024, as Amanda was planning to fly to Virginia for an interview to pursue missions overseas, she did not feel at peace leaving and decided to stay until the Lord made it clear. While searching for clarity, many of her friends hinted to her that Nathan was a godly guy and that she should give him a chance. She, however, was just not interested. But, over time, the Lord began to stir in her heart, and Nathan constantly came to her mind. After much prayer and persistence from her friends, she decided to give him a chance by being open to letting him pursue her. Meanwhile, the Lord was working in Nathan's heart as well. Nathan, at the time, actually had intentions of pursuing someone else. But God made it very clear he needed to pursue the person he had for him through a conversation with his roommate, who did not know of Amanda's sudden change of heart.

After Nathan decided to ask Amanda out on a date, through conversation, they both realized that the night Nathan decided he was going to ask Amanda out was the same night Amanda decided she was open to letting Nathan pursue her! Once they became official, the Lord slowly made it clear that he wanted to bless them in a godly marriage. On March 2, 2025 (Amanda's birthday!), Nathan took Amanda to the very spot they became official and got down on one knee to propose to her! She, of course, said yes, and they are now counting down the days til the day they say I do on August 1, 2025! They are so excited to celebrate with family and friends the Lord's work in their lives and the love story he is writing for them.
