Our First Date

Robert and Amanda met online in September 2018 when Amanda moved to Hamilton to start school at Mohawk College, where Robert was already studying. After texting every day for a couple weeks they decided to go on their first date at the Brown Dog Coffee Shoppe. Amanda was intrigued by the handsome, tall, Canadian man wearing the red buffalo plaid shirt and jeans. Robert was amused by how short Amanda was. They talked for hours and shared many laughs.

Dating

Robert and Amanda continued dating for 4 years, getting to know each other, falling in love, and building memories together. They went on many dates - going on walks around Hamilton, going to Tim Horton's, or just staying in watching shows and playing video games. There is some debate over who said "I love you" first, but both agree that the love they have for each other is unconditional and unequivocal.

Proposal

On March 18, 2022, Robert and Amanda went on a romantic weekend getaway to Niagara Falls. During their trip, they stopped at Amanda's parent's house and Robby formally asked them for their blessing to marry Amanda. When Amanda entered the house, she turned the corner and found him on one knee with the ring box in his hand. He was so nervous that when she walked up to him he was still speechless. Eventually he was able to ask, "Will you marry me? Will you be my forever?" And of course, Amanda said "YES!"
