One of our favorite spots in the world is "The Dunes". This state park is the perfect day trip if you are looking for a relaxing beach day, a hike through the woods, or looking to push yourself by climbing the massive sand dune (bring shoes, it gets toasty). Day passes for out-of-state cars are $11 (cash only at check-in). Food and beverage vendors are located on the beach and you are more than welcome to pack your own cooler though they do not allow alcohol in the park.

Oinks is a family-owned business that has been in New Buffalo since 1987. If you love a sweet treat they have many options of ice creams and sorbets available. If ice cream isn't your vibe then check out the fudge and candy shop directly next door. With new and old school candy there is something everyone will love. Try and count how many pigs you can find inside and be sure to check out the vintage cars lining their parking lot!

If you're a craft beer disciple then this is the church for you! This 156 year old church has been renovated into a beer and Italian fare haven. For the nonbelievers, they also offer craft cocktails and wine. With sandwiches, pastas, small plates, and more, you're sure to find something that will make your mouth water.

This outdoor adventure takes you on a picturesque walk through the woods where you will come out to the Galien river. There is a boardwalk that takes you atop the river where you can spot turtles, frogs, fish, and various birds. This is by no means a difficult hike and can be done in sandals if you'd like to hit it up before or after the beach. For all the brave souls and those not afraid of heights be sure to take the trail that leads up to a 60' overlook where you can stand above the river and look over the surrounding forest.

Whistle Stop Grocery is located right along Red arrow Highway between New Buffalo and Buchanan. This is truly a hidden gem and one stop shop! Breakfast sandwiches that will make your eyes pop, pastries that will make you drool, and every drink we have tried from the coffee menu has been delicious. You can place lunch and breakfast orders ahead to bring with you to the beach or feel free to dine outdoors at their picnic tables.

Make sure you "Bite in to a Legend" at this long-standing New Buffalo restaurant. While you can't go wrong with a wrap, Italian beef, or wings, the burgers are what made them famous. There is a long list of delicious appetizers perfect for all tastes; Amandas favorite being the fried cauliflower and mini corndogs for Dustin. This establishment is cash only!

This family owned bakery brings all the flavors of local Michigan farms to their desserts. This reminds Amanda of her bakery growing up. We chose this bakery for our desserts at the wedding because everything was delightful. We highly recommend the cheese pastry, danoli, and quiche!

Conveniently located right along Red Arrow Highway, this restaurant and bar is a can't miss! We highly recommend the pot roast sandwich and roasted chicken with the potato salad on the side, yum. Roadhouse does not take reservations but it is definitely worth the wait!

This distillery is located in a factory which was established in 1883, founded by an ardent prohibitionist. Be sure to try their signature whiskey or whiskey flights. We highly recommend the Detroit style pizza!

This winery is built from 160 years of grape and fruit growing experience! While the family start back in 1855 the winery with a stunning countryside view was established in 1984.

This picture perfect winery is a newly converted barn with tables adorning the vineyard to relax and enjoy your wine. Round Barn is tucked away in Michigan farmland and is a dog friendly establishment.
