Nothing ever happens as you expect it. Maybe that’s how fate is designed. Amanda and Kyle moved to Orlando for different reasons, but fate seemed to find its purpose. Finding true love isn’t always like the movies. We live in an age where dating is done from a swipe or a click. where people blindly filter through hundreds and thousands of faces, subjectively canvassing for ‘the one’. In most cases, online dating leads to nothing but awkward icebreakers and ghosted conversations. However, as fate decided… Amanda and Kyle defied all odds and found each other. One might ask, how many guys with shirtless selfies or poses with freshly caught fish did Amanda have to swipe past to find Kyle? Countless.

In fact, Amanda ignored Kyle’s dating page at first glance. Something about the freshly groomed bearded selfie of Kyle in an ale house bathroom was intriguing yet not convincing. Alas, Amanda lost his page as she closed the app, but that’s where fate ran its course. Days later, Kyle’s dating page revealed itself once again, leading Amanda to take a second glance. The selling point that made Amanda want to match with Kyle was his awful singing rendition of classic Disney hits. Kyle will be forever grateful of that new feature on Hinge that allowed voice messages on his page.

Kyle and Amanda exchanged messages through the app and eventually Amanda asked Kyle out on a date. Ironically, her impatience was a virtue, as who knew how long it would take for Kyle to make the first move.

March 2022, first date here we are. A nice night of mini golf at Universal City Walk. Kyle arrived fashionably late… typical. But Kyle still remembers the exact outfit Amanda wore as she sat on the bench awaiting his arrival. The first date went as well as it could once they got through putting away with awkward conversation. Despite his intense competitiveness, Kyle “let” Amanda win. Ultimately Amanda and Kyle went home happy and anxious for a second date.

The second date turned into a third and so on and so forth. By this point, Amanda and Kyle are dating officially. There was something special about their relationship. Kyle and Amanda are very different in many ways, but love is unexplainable. One thing that Amanda and Kyle do share in common is their love for exploration and travel.

Amanda and Kyle moved in together in November. On the night of New Years Eve, Kyle decided to play a fun game with Amanda to decide a trip for their anniversary. Deal or No Deal: Vacation Edition. 20 locations written in envelopes, Amanda picks one and eliminates the other 19 locations one by one. Ultimately, the lucky destination was Arizona. However, Kyle knew this trip was special and opted to bring out a special envelope to give Amanda one more chance to change the location. Of course… she chose to switch. Top of the morning to ya, we’re going to Ireland!

Thanks to Amanda’s keen persistence of preparation, the trip was planned successfully. Although, Kyle had one more plan that wasn’t included in the itinerary.

Kyle decided to propose to Amanda along the of the Cliffs of Moher. There’s not many places more beautiful than that. Kyle took one knee and despite the beautiful background, his attention was fully drawn to the love of his life. There could’ve been a meteor heading right for them in that moment, yet they wouldn’t have noticed. It was just Kyle and Amanda in that moment. Nothing else mattered. In fact, the second Kyle proposed, a torrential downpour occurred. It was almost like a scene from a movie. Amanda said yes and as they kissed, the rain disappeared. It was a perfect metaphor for their love. No matter the circumstances, their love shines through. A rainbow formed directly overtop of them as if this was fate making itself known once again, reassuring them how powerful the universe can be.

As Kyle looked Amanda in her eyes, he realized that there truly is gold at the end of a rainbow.
