This love story starts back in eighth grade at Exeter Junior High School in 2013. It was common knowledge to most students that Amanda liked Jason and Jason liked Amanda. During Amanda’s soccer party with her team, Jason and a group of friends were spotted walking home and stopped at the top of Herbein Hill by her teammates. They dragged Amanda to the top of the hill where Jason and his friends were fooling around. After some awkward silence, Jason asked out Amanda on October 24th, 2013 surrounded by their group of friends which was the start to their forever.
The next few years flew by, and Amanda and Jason became inseparable throughout high school. Birthdays, proms, and graduation were celebrated and cherished as they came and went. After deciding on two different colleges, Amanda and Jason had to face the hardest challenge going into their freshman year… separation. Amanda’s grandmother told her, “Separation makes the heart grow fonder,” and she was right. Though an hour apart seemed far some days and closer others, plenty of visits and FaceTime calls were made over the four years in school. After four years apart, Amanda and Jason were ready to begin planning a life together.
In June of 2023, Amanda and Jason moved to Virginia to pursue jobs and rented their first apartment. It was a transition to leave family and friends, but being together after all the years felt like home.
Following their 10th year anniversary, Amanda and Jason took a trip to visit close friends in Jacksonville, FL. It was on the beach on January 20th, 2024, at sunset, that Jason surprised everyone, including Amanda, and asked her to marry him. The proposal could not have been more perfect as Jason had been carrying the ring around with him all day in his pocket without Amanda noticing. After the proposal, Amanda and Jason shared the exciting news with family and friends and shared a dance at a local bar as a newly engaged couple.
As wedding planning continues, Amanda and Jason are excited to share the new start of their forever with all of their loved ones!
