Our Story

How We Met!

Ironically, we were both taking a break on dating apps for the same amount of months then we both hopped back on and we immediately matched on bumble! We both honestly thought that this was not going to work out. We both have been through so many matches and dates and assumed it was going to be just another one to add to our lists. But we have both agreed to meet in late October of 2020. We first met at Blackbird Coffee which is located downtown Valparaiso, IN. There was some spark that we both felt and agreed to meet up again. After that date, I took Tyler to the Dunes to go on a hike, and after that is when we both discovered how we are always down for a Jimmy Johns Sandwich, which is still a go to place for us. We ended up talking for hours. Then on our 3rd date in mid-November, after a sushi date we made it official. He still jokingly thinks to this day that his dog Loki was the one that made me stay around, but Loki is just a bonus to my soulmate.

The Proposal

Tyler planned on asking for my fathers permission during our planned trip back for Christmas 2022, but extreme winters canceled all flights during that time. So, Plan B was to ask my dad over the phone.
A month later my parents told me that they had some extra vacation time and wanted to come visit me since its their first time to Colorado. Me being as gullible as I have been my entire life said of course!
A few days leading up to the day as my parents were driving from Indiana to Colorado (which they did in one day!), I realized why they werent replying to their own daughter but they would instantly reply to Tyler when he asked for a trip update. Still I did not put two and two together.
On March 18th, 2023 we all drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park to meet up with the rest of his family since they were staying up there in a cabin outside the park. As always I got car sick on the drive up there (If you know me that is not a shocker!) Once we got settled after the long drive, we were discussing places to go that was a easy walk for all of us. Tylers mom said she talked to rangers for ideas
Once we get to the area, we went walking around the frozen lake taking in all the views and taking some pictures. One thing I told Tyler during the begining of our relationship was If we get married, the one thing I request is that I want family present during the proposal.” And he defiently did not forget since it was surrounded by family and I would not change any second of it!
