2018 Kettering, OH, where we had our actual first look

Madeline: I knew there was something special about her as soon as I saw her and I thought she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen, but did not know what would end up happening.

Amanda: I went to boring old drill.. Ready for dreadful deployment preparations. WOULDN'T YOU KNOW I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my entire life. Little ole PFC Madeline Zoldak. I didn't know a thing about her, but she always seemed to catch my eyes wherever she was. I got butterflies every single time I saw her that day and after. Even still to this day :)

Madeline: I ended up having two of Amanda's best friends in my platoon in Kuwait, so we had the same friend group. We hung out plenty of times and always tried to sit right next to each other. We barely knew each other, and I would always catch myself missing her when she wasn't around. It only took Amanda about 5 months into deployment to finally make the first move, but she did, and I could not have been happier. I was going to a different camp with my platoon for two weeks and Amanda volunteered to come. I think it was fate that she was able to come because this is mostly where it all happened. Since then, you could not find us apart. We spent every single day together as much as we could. I never wanted to be away from her. She was so fun, sweet, and had the biggest heart. I was with her any chance I got.

Amanda: I wasn't sure that Madeline was actually going to be selected for the deployment, but when she was I was so excited to get to know her... even if it was just as friends. I had no intentions of starting a relationship on deployment, but there was just something about Madeline... I seen her on and off everyday and each day I wanted to talk to her and get to know her more! After about 5 months of friendly conversation and getting to know her a little better, I realized how mature, kind, and beautiful Madeline was inside and out... At this point Madeline says I "volunteered to go to the other Camp" where her platoon was going, but the truth is.. I FORCED my way to go on this trip because I knew she was going and I knew it was my chance.. I couldn't help myself at this point... I HAD TO ASK HER TO BE MINE. After she agreed to give me a shot, we spent every single night having long intimate conversations and getting to know everything about each other. I was in Heaven.

Fast forward to June, 2019

Amanda went home :( She went home for training for her new job. I was SAD. But I later followed her and came home in August. After spending so much time away from each other, I was only home for about 2 weeks before I drove to St. Louis, Missouri where we had our first vacation and alone time (finally). We had the best time with each other and I knew I loved her. We took a huge chance on each other, but since the beginning we knew something was different. I knew I wanted to spend my whole life with her. 2 weeks after we got home from Missouri, no sh*t there I was moving to Columbus and getting an active duty army position. We met each others families and fell in love. We both fit in so perfectly!

March 2020 we bought our own little piece of heaven (House) in Bloomingburg. We now have a dog, Sophie and 2 cats Phantie and Roy. We often recount our fond memories of Kuwait and all of the nervous moments and butterflies. Meeting each other was the best thing to ever happen to us. We grow stronger every single day and we are so so excited to see what the future has in store for us. Our future is so bright together. Our family, careers, hobbies, and friends are what help make our life so perfect.
