Welcome to our wedding website
What’s the best way to get to Morocco from Canada?
Montréal!
Direct flights to both Casablanca and Marrakech via Air Canada, Air Transat and Royal Air Maroc. Montréal often has 3 direct flights to Morocco per day due to the 3 airlines providing it.
There is also a direct flight from Toronto.
If you are coming from USA, direct flights fly from Atlanta, Washington and Newark on saturdays.
How far in advance should I book my flight?
Flight prices start to rise about 4 months before takeoff. Booking early can save you a lot of money. The cheapest I’ve ever seen was 675$ round trip direct Toronto to Casablanca.
The cheapest I have personally ever paid was 718$ round trip direct Montreal to Casablanca.
The most I have ever paid was 1,315$ round trip Montreal to Casablanca (because I waited until the month before, don’t be like me!)
You can get direct flights from Montreal to both Casablanca and Marrakech.
It’s about 6.5 hours on the way there, and 7.5 hours returning due to wind direction.
An average price is about 840-1000$
Do you want wedding gifts?
No. Your presence is a gift.
Is there strict dress code?
Day 1 – Family Gathering in M’Hamid
This will be a casual meet-and-greet with Aissa’s family over a shared meal. Since we’ll be with local families, modest dress is preferred. Just aim for something comfy and respectful.
Day 2 – The Wedding in the Dunes
This is where the vibes come in. We’ll be in the desert, so think desert chic. Some love dressing up, some don’t. wear whatever makes you feel good! My dress won’t be super formal, so no need to stress about being too fancy or too casual. Loose, flowy outfits work well for the desert, and if you’re interested, a Sahara gandora is a great option.
What’s the situation on alcohol?
Alcohol is permitted to be drank in Morocco in private spaces, public intoxication is illegal and you won’t find it on patios or outside, but in bars and restaurants they sell beer and drinks indoors. it’s mostly sold for tourists but some locals drink too. There is a drink store called “Victoria Drink Store” in Marrakech and it’s basically the same thing as an LCBO. They have wine beer and spirits. You can find Corona, Heneiken and Moroccan beers - Flag, Flag Gold, Casablanca, and San Miguel (from Spain) almost everything is a lager or Pilsner.
We will have beer available (and we will try to find good wine - Moroccan wines I’ve had arent good lol) for the guests at the wedding at Camp Koutban (the second day, not the first, it wouldn’t be appropriate to drink in front of Aissa’s family) - but if you also want to buy your own drinks for nights in your hotel or the big wedding day in the dunes, you are welcome to visit the Victoria drink store before we leave Marrakech.
