We swiped right!

Many people ask us how we first met. We have told stories from the homeless shelter to unemployment line, but the real story is we both swiped right! That’s right, we met online dating via Tinder. Both of us had sworn off online dating apps in the past, but I think we are pretty glad we tried it one more time!

The Fab Four

These are two of our favorite family photos, mainly because they are very real and in the moment! Both pictures are attempts at a nice photo of the four of us, and our faces definitely show the personalities and fun we were having in trying to get the “perfect shot”. Of course we aren’t perfect, but we think we are perfect for each other!

The Dandelion That Changed It All

We went hiking to a new spot (a favorite hobby of ours) and found a waterfall along the trail. Jayson seemed a bit “off” that day, and I would later find out it was his nerves! When we arrived at the waterfall, there were a lot of people crowded around and the view wasn’t exactly what he had pictured as he exclaimed with frustration, “This was supposed to be a magical waterfall!!!” I couldn’t understand what was wrong with the waterfall or why it needed to be super special. We were heading away from it when we found a path that led to the top of the waterfall. We weren’t sure we should do it, but he was very excited to check it out. We reached the top and the view was more magical for sure. I noticed a single dandelion growing out of a rock in the middle of the waterfall. I wanted to take a picture, and he told me he would get out of my way for me to get the picture. He moved behind me and I struggled with my phone camera to get the best picture. While trying to not fall off the cliff and get my phone safely back in my backpack, I stood up to turn around and see him down on one knee. That was the moment he proposed! I was so shocked and happy. He waited until everyone else had walked away, so it was just the two of us. He said to me that maybe he should have had one person there to get a picture, but I think our selfies that we took are pretty awesome. We did continue on our hike, 6 miles total I believe, with the ring safely back in his backpack. He jokes that he made me hike 6 miles to marry him. I’d gladly hike as far as necessary! I’m grateful I saw the dandelion, and beyond excited that he became my fiancé that day. ❤️
