When is the Wedding?
October 18, 2024
When are invitations being sent?
You'll be receiving formal invites in July, with a requested RSVP by date of September 1, 2024.
What time does the wedding start?
5:30pm CST
Where is the Ceremony?
The Ceremony will be held in the lower level and courtyard of the Pharmacy Museum. It has a spooky history with a traditional New Orleans courtyard setting.
Where is the Reception?
The Reception will be held in the Grand Marquis Ballroom at the Court of the Two sisters. This venue is quintessential New Orleans with a rich history and a delicious Creole menu.
What should I wear?
Festive cocktail attire is encouraged. There will be a Second Line Parade between the ceremony and reception so bring or wear shoes you'd be comfortable walking in for a 20 minute period. We want our guests to be comfortable and ready to party!
Can I bring a plus one?
All invitations are addressed to the invited guests. Unfortunately we aren't able to accommodate more guests due to our venue sizes.
What's a Second Line Parade?
The Second Line Parade has a deep rich history in New Orleans. When performed at weddings, it celebrates the beginning of a new life for the couple.
The parade consists of two parts; "First Line", is the band and the wedded couple , and the "Second Line", follows the honored couple dancing and parading to lively music.
This style of dance, in which participants walk waving handkerchiefs or twirling parasols is called "Second Lining".
What should I expect at the Wedding?
To party hard and eat a lot! We've opted to fully embrace New Orleans' traditions by celebrating "reception style" with our guests. This basically means the party starts with the Second Line parade, and doesn't stop. There will be appetizers, open bar, a traditional New Orleans dinner buffet, and seating throughout. Our guests will not be assigned formal seating, and we're encouraging everyone to hit the dancefloor immediately!
Are children allowed?
We're having a childfree ceremony and reception to ensure all of our loved ones who are parents can truly let loose.
Where should I stay?
We've booked 3 hotel blocks in close proximity to the venues, but please feel free to explore all options throughout the city. New Orleans has wonderful Airbnb and boutique hotel options outside of our courtesy blocks.
Will I need to rent a car?
This depends on your comfort levels and budgets, but it's not a necessity. New Orleans is extremely walker friendly, the Ubers are plentiful, and the streetcars are a must try transport if it's your first visit.
What are the plans throughout the weekend?
We want our guests to have a vacation! Please feel free to explore New Orleans at your leisure. We're ironing out final details for an informal welcome party and wedding after hours for our guests that want to keep the party going with us. Stay tuned!
